Marina Del Rey
Marina del Rey is a seaside unincorporated area of Los Angeles County, California. Its population at the 2000 U.S. Census was 8,176. Its Fisherman’s Village offers a view of Marina del Rey’s dominant feature as one of the largest man-made small boat harbors in the U.S., with 19 marinas with capacity for 5,300 boats.
Marina del Rey is southeast of Venice and north of Playa del Rey near the mouth of the Ballona Creek. It is located four miles (6 km) north of Los Angeles International Airport.
It is bounded on all sides by the City of Los Angeles. The beach-style homes, the strip of land against the beach, and the beach itself (see photo), west of the harbor, are within the City of Los Angeles limits, with a Marina del Rey address. The name of this strip is the Marina Peninsula. Via Dolce and the southern portion of Via Marina are the boundaries between L.A. City and the unincorporated area.

Playa del Rey (Spanish for “Beach of the King” or “King’s beach”) is a beachside community within the city of Los Angeles, California. It has a ZIP code of 90293.
Playa del Rey lies beneath the Del Rey Hills, (also known as the Westchester Bluffs) on a flood plain which slopes gradually uphill north to the Santa Monica Mountains.

The boundaries of the currently developed portion are approximately Lincoln Boulevard on the west, Ballona Creek on the north, Dawn Creek Drive on the east, and the Del Rey Hills bluffs on the south. Westchester
Westchester is a neighborhood in western Los Angeles. It is home to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Loyola Marymount University (LMU), and Otis College of Art and Design. Westchester is located in the eastern part of the Del Rey Hills. The Westchester community is separated from the Pacific Ocean by Playa del Rey on the west. Its northern border is defined by and includes the area now know as Playa Vista, as well as Culver City, and the unincorporated area of Ladera Heights.
